So who here is a dog guide handler? I've got a small email group for dog guide handlers, and it needs a new avenue. If you belong to any dog guide discussion groups on yahoo and the like, I'm interested in your feedback. If you were to make a group what kind of atmospere would you strive for and would you want the traditional type rules of no flaming schools etc. or not.... perhaps you'd prefer an open anything goes type of environment. Would all dog guide handlers be welcome or would you restrict it for example, to golden cross handlers only or only grads of a particular program etc? Do you think there should be some sort of question of the day or is that lame? Any additional ideas or comments?
I am a guide dog user. As of now, I do not belong to any email group, but, I am interested in finding one. I think it is a good idea to have one that is open minded, but, on the other hand, it should be a place where everyone is going to respect everyone else. No bashing or criticizing of which guide dog school you went to or what kind of dog you have. I don't think the discussions should be limited to one or two particular breeds of dogs. Not everyone has the same breed of dog, so, it would be good to have a variety. As for the question of the day idea, I think that would be very good. Having a question of the day, could be very benificial to people, depending on the topic and subject of the questions.
Have you already started this email group, or, are you just interested in starting one? If you have already started one, where can people go to check it out?
I think that a guide dog list is good. I think that you shouldn't restrict who can join the group. I also think you should have a question of the day. I don't think there should be bashing of other schools or dogs either. Let me know if you start this group please?

I love your question of the day idea!! It actually could prove quite useful for new handelers and maybe even those who have a want and need to learn somethin' new! feel free to hit me up in a PM here, on MSN or e-mail and I'd be glad to join in on the fun.
